The best dreams happen when you're wide awake

Sometimes you have to fall from the mountain to realize what you are climbing for

Life has a funny way of waking you up,

a lot of times right before your fall hits the ground. It’s like those dreams you have- The ones where you’re falling and your body jolts you out of sound sleep to remind you, you’re still alive

Far to often we wonder through life going through the motions until one day it hits you. It might be days, it might be months or it might be years. But one day you wake up - realizing that there is far more to live for than what you’ve been lost in.  You might have been existing but you surely haven’t been living.

For months I had been battling with an inner struggle, trying to come to grips with what I felt I was being called to do and what I was expected to do. These two things being totally opposite. Months passing, pushing that voice to the back of my head, continuing to exist, but not truly living.

Then like that falling dream, one day it hit me. Like lighting strikes - I was jolted wide awake. Awake to the realization that time had slipped through my fingers and what exactly did I have to show for it ? That voice I had drowned with life, with noise, with all the things this world tells you make you important but really leave you empty.

So I made a decision, I wanted to live- with purpose. Not for myself but for far greater than that. I know that the journey isn’t going to be easy but I do know that it will be worth it.

It seems only fitting with the start of a new year that there is also a start of a new life. So going into this year , for the first time in a long time, I know I am right where I am supposed to be. Pursuing happiness, love and laughter not only in my life but to help fill it in others. Putting the things that matter most first. I can’t wait to see where I will be led and what I will learn. Finally, feeling awake.
